How Long Does a Custom Race Suit Take?

Short answer: a Racevoro custom race suit typically takes about 10–15 working days to make after you approve your design and measurements, plus about 5–7 days courier transit to the United States. Allow roughly three to five weeks from order to delivery, including measuring and design approval. Customs clearance can add time.

The timeline, step by step

Here's how a made-to-measure order moves from checkout to your door. All timings are estimates, and we confirm your ready-to-ship date in writing when production is accepted.

1. Order (day 0)

You choose your product and options and complete checkout. For the Apex suit, that means choosing 1-Piece ($799) or 2-Piece ($829), your perforation and any upgrades. If you'd like to plan your colours, name and number first, start in our custom suit designer.

2. Measurements (a few days, depending on you)

After checkout we email you a link to the measurement form for your product, along with our Size & Measurement Guide. All measurements are in centimetres, as body measurements with no added allowance. With a helper and a soft tape, most riders can do this in one session. Our How to Measure for a Race Suit guide walks you through each point.

3. Measurement check and design approval

We review every measurement. If anything is missing or unclear, we send all our questions in one message. We then send a design mockup showing colours, name, number and artwork placement. You can ask for changes before you approve. Production only starts after you approve your design and measurements in writing, so how quickly you reply affects your overall timeline.

4. Production

  • Suits and jackets: about 10–15 working days after approval
  • Gloves and boots: about 7 working days after approval

Every piece is handmade in our own workshop. Working days exclude weekends and public holidays, so 10–15 working days is roughly two to three calendar weeks.

5. Quality check and dispatch

Your piece is checked against your approved design and measurements before it's packed. When it ships, we email you the carrier name and tracking number.

6. Shipping (about 5–7 days)

We ship by international express courier (DHL, UPS or FedEx), with free tracked shipping to the US. Transit is about 5–7 days after dispatch (estimate). Customs clearance can add time. Before your order ships, we tell you in writing whether any import duties or taxes are payable on delivery. See our Shipping page.

Example timeline for a suit (assuming quick replies)

  • Week 1: order, send measurements, review questions, receive and approve your design mockup
  • Weeks 2–4: production (about 10–15 working days)
  • Weeks 4–5: quality check, dispatch and about 5–7 days in transit

Your timeline may be shorter or longer depending on how quickly you send measurements and approve your design, and on customs clearance.

How to avoid delays

  • Measure carefully the first time. Use a helper and follow the guide exactly. Incomplete measurements are the most common cause of back-and-forth.
  • Decide your design early. Have your colours, name, number and logos ready when you order. You need the right to use any artwork you send.
  • Reply promptly to our questions and to your design mockup.
  • Order well ahead of your event. If your first track day is only a week or two away, custom gear probably won't arrive in time.

What if something needs to be remade?

If the finished piece doesn't match your approved measurements or design (our production error), we correct or remake it at no cost to you, and we pay the shipping both ways. If the measurements you supplied were incorrect, we assess the piece and quote a correction or remake before any work starts. A remake typically takes about 10–15 working days (estimate). See Returns & Remakes.

Lead times for the rest of the kit

Each then ships in about 5–7 days (estimate).

Quick answers

Can I get a custom suit faster?

Production typically takes about 10–15 working days after you approve your design and measurements, and we don't promise a date until production is accepted. The best way to keep things moving is to send complete measurements quickly and approve your design promptly. If you have an event date, tell us when you order.

When does the clock start?

Production time starts after you approve your design and measurements in writing, not at checkout. Before that, we check your measurements and prepare your design mockup. Once production is accepted, we confirm your ready-to-ship date in writing, then shipping takes about 5–7 days.
